I’m ade ishs, also known as Iman S H Suyoto.

I work across music and technology, with a long‑standing interest in sound, structure, and meaning. I’m best known as a pianist and composer, but my practice has also included computer science, academia, and large‑scale applied systems.

Born in Bandung, Jawa Barat, Indonesia 🇮🇩 and now based in Latrobe, Tasmania, Australia 🇦🇺, my creative work is grounded in melody, improvisation, and lived experience. Over the years, it has been performed, recorded, and written about through festivals, albums, journals, books, and broadcasts in Australia and beyond.

I share my life with my wife, Fety Aryani. We have collaborated for years, including through a long‑running vlog, and our marriage is integral to how and why I work the way I do.

Alongside my musical life, I hold a PhD background in computer science, with research connecting music and information retrieval and professional experience spanning data, systems, and governance. These domains are not separate for me; they inform one another.

I’ve been known by different names in different contexts and cultures. Rather than reduce those histories to a single label, I let them coexist.
